Stickers and temporary tattoos
Kids genuinely seem to love stickers. They’re inexpensive, and unlike another tiny plastic toy, they’re actually going to use them. Temporary tattoos are another good one (my son would happily cover his entire body in them). Even better if you can find ones printed with safer inks and without lots of plastic packaging.
“Super cheap, kids love them, not a PIA for parents.”
- Heather Victoria DesignIndependent illustrated temporary tattoos made with soya ink, recyclable film and a compostable sleeve. One sheet has 9 tattoos, so easily splittable between bags. Currently £2 on sale.
- Party Without PlasticPlastic-free tattoo sheets made in Europe using paper and vegetable inks. The construction sheet has 8 individual tattoos for £2.99 and is specifically designed to be cut up.
Around 20p–£1 per child if you're splitting sheets
Prices vary depending on quantities and multipacks.
This is definitely one where I’d buy bigger sheets and split them rather than buying ten individually packaged sets. A couple of tattoos + some stickers is plenty. And if anyone finds genuinely good eco-friendly face stickers, please send them to me — I’m still hunting!
